The Solidarity Collective

The Solidarity Collective is a foundation that provides financial support and community care for activists in the Netherlands who are facing unexpected costs or losses due to their activism. 

As a community, we need to show up, together, to help carry the financial toll of the activism that benefits us all. The people who are willing to risk their personal safety to take a stand for justice everywhere need and deserve the support of the masses. Being fined for demonstrating should not have the impact of the protester being unable to eat for the rest of the month, but at the moment that is the reality for a number of our comrades. Furthermore, the authorities are making it more and more difficult for individuals to exercise their right to protest by creating protest bans, using excessive force and intimidation tactics during demonstrations and outside of demonstrations. 

We salute our comrades who keep showing up despite it all, for the good of all.

What we do

The Solidarity Collective provides financial support to help cover costs and/or damages incurred due to activism. These costs include but are not limited to:

• • legal fees
  • fines
  • health insurance costs
  • travel expenses
  • damaged personal belongings (clothing, phone)

We operate within a reference framework, and we operate based on trust. We are building a solidarity network, not another capitalist institution.
